PS3 CONNECTION TO DLR 825
« on: June 06, 2011, 08:11:23 PM »

My connection has gone terrible. First of all, last week my connection was still good 9/10 for my PS3. I play Black Ops on my PS3 and it keeps dropping me out of games. Also, there are major lag issues when I'm in game. Other people have a 4 bar connection while I only have a 1 to 2 bar connection.

I have tried wired and wireless, both still gave me the slow result. I tried rebooting my router a couple of times and still no luck. I don't know what happened. Last week, my connection was still perfectly fine.

Any suggestions? Comments? Do I need to open more ports or anything? I have no clue :( Please help!

Thanks!

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP modem do you have? Stand alone or built in router?

How are you connecting to the router? Wired or Wireless? Wired is preferred for gaming.

Check out the DGL-4500 forum stickies for game console set up. Different UI however the data is the same and works well.

Ensure DNS addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Ensure Dns relay is enabled.
Disable Advanced DNS Service if you have this option.
Setup Reserved IP addresses for you consoles on the router. Ensure devices are set up for auto obtain IP addresses.

Let us know how it goes.

I have a cable Modem by Shaw, it is a stand alone. I tried connecting with both wired and wireless but still the same result.

I looked at the gaming topic forum that you have suggested, but on my router page. I cannot find the advance > GAMEFUEL.
