Randy, this is good information man. Thanks for your input. I can't verify that my PC and BF2 and EA servers work with my 825 as of yet. I don't have a EA account as I mostly gaming on XBL. I do have BF2 for PC just haven't bought an account. Do they have a trial by chance? It would be interesting to see if 2.03 has the same issue.

USM, can you revert back to 2.02 and see if this clears the BF2 issue for you? I'm curious if it does, then we might be able to get DLink to look into it.

Let us know. I'll fire up my PC and see what happens for BF2.

Hi FurryNutz,

I purchased BC2 through Steam for my PC. The EA servers are still accessed when you run the game though and that's what would ultimately kick me offline.

I skipped right from v2.02, which was default when I bought my DIR-825, to v2.05. I should probably give v2.03 a try to see if its okay with BC2 and my MAC address octet problem. The MAC address problem is well documented in the forums.

Cheers.

This seems to be a serious issue with the Dir 855, Mhmm I guess after all it may be a bad firmware? usmarine0622 Try loading 2.02 and let me know that you are not getting kicked. If these issues persist FurryNutz will continue to help you guys out! (Hello Nutz)

I tried firmware 2.03 and it also kicks me out of BF BC2 as v2.05 did.

I'm hoping DLink can fix this plus the MAC address octet problem.

Maybe I'll try the open source WRT firmware but I'm a little nervous about turning the router into a brick.

I will forward this on and see if there is someone who can review it.
Is the Mac address problem seen in v2.05?

Hi guys,

had the same issue with my DIR-825 and had to change my firewall settings to 'Endpoint Independent' from the deafult value after that it works as expected.

Cheers

Kewl, thanks for the info. Curious, What FW version is your 825 at now?

Is the Mac address problem seen in v2.05?

The v2.05 fixed the MAC address problem for me and I was very happy about that since I had to create rules for my kids stuff ... PSP Go, iTouch, Blackberry, PS3, and a new laptop. All the new stuff DOESN'T start with"00:".  Yes I'm an old gamer :)

I'm excited to see PrimeTime's note about changing the firewall settings to 'Endpoint Independent'.

PrimeTime, did you set that for both UDP and TCP? How did you find this solution?

Cheers,
