Dns 320 need help going online
« on: June 12, 2011, 10:16:21 PM »

I just set up dns 320. How do I configure my linksys E2000 to access my hard drive files over the internet. I have set up a dlinkddns account. Any suggestions welcome.  How do I activate port 80, as suggested in NAS setup. john

These are the entries in single port forwarding in my linksys e2000 router. I tried a d-link router in an attempt to be compatible on my system, that failed. I returned it.

DNS 320 server
ext port 80     int port  8081  protocol tcp    ip: 192.168.1.xxx

I have two d-link cameras they work fine.  I am on comcast cable no blocks on their end. Any ideas on how to access my data online.

Shouldn't your Ext-port be 8081 and Int-port 80 since NAS web admin listen to port 80 by default?

not sure if this helps.. i have a modem and a router both on dhcp.. so i foward 80 from modem to router.. and foward again 80 from router to NAS.. my modem and router both have wan admin turn off..

so when i try to access from the same lan (using public ip / dns).. it will keep going to the modem admin cause althou i disable wan access.. it recognize it as lan.. and i can't get access to the nas.. same with FTP.. it keep trying to connect with the modem ftp..

but when i access using another IP.. from broadband or somewhere outside.. it work just fine.. so maybe you can try access it from elsewhere..

i'm no networking expert but this is hwo i got it work.. trial and error.. hope it help
