Noob alert - Setting up FTP ?

Sorry to be a complete Noob, but I am struggling to get my head around setting up a FTP server.

Quite a noob when it come to this kind of thing. Got my box set up, dnla working and back up.

I want to allow my inlaws to be able to connect to my NAS box to view pictures. I guess this is possible.

I am stuck on what settings I should be using on the NAS box and BT homehub 2. I've attached screen shots of where I am confused. I thought it would be a simple of case of turning FTP on and allowing port forwarding but something seems to connect.!!!!
