iTunes Server Setup
« on: June 30, 2011, 01:05:00 AM »

Hi Guys,
I recently purchased a 320 and so far I'm very pleased with it... few issues (Direct usb copy for one).

I tried last night to setup the iTunes server feature so I could point 2 different machines at one music collection. I got it setup ok (I think), but itunes doesn't show the 320 in the sharing section... just the default home sharing.

Is there anything special I need to do on the nas or within itunes?

Thanks

PS I'm also playing with fun plug... would I be better getting a music server for that?

Bump!!!

Is the iTunes server working for everyone else??

PS now when I try to view my itunes server under application management it keeps looping through initialising... build media library... initialising etc...

Is there any way to kill this feature?? doesn't seem to work too well!

I've been trying to share the iTunes library via several methods ... (1) share music (via iTunes preferences) didn't work ... (2) iTunes Home Sharing (via iTunes advanced) didn't work very well, ... and (3) via my DNS-323 with iTunes Server enabled.  The latter worked at one time (showed up in iTunes sharing) but I'm wanting to work with it again, and it's not showing up this time.  It may be due to an iTunes upgrade (Windows XP), I don't know, but I'll keep working at it.

Does D-Link have a Kb article or tutorial on this subject?

TIA  :)
