Author Topic: DCS-1130 - "There was a problem saving your settings." Error with Linksys e-4200  (Read 44334 times)

I recently upgraded my Linksys router to the E-4200.  In the process I changed the SSID.
I was able to get a DCS-920, and two DCS-930s working just fine (as they were on the older linksys router).

But I have two, DCS-1130s and when I run the Installation Wizard with the camera's (which are initially connected via Ethernet) I can not get the camera to save the "wireless" settings.  I get the "There was a problem saving your settings. Click Next to try again."   I simply need to save the settings and move the cameras to an area where there is no Ethernet.

What's stranger, is that when the cameras are connected via Ethernet, I can log into the camera's web browser directly.  But most of the Setup settings (90% or so) won't display.  So I can not configure the camera that way. And that happens with both DCS-1130s.

Any suggestions?

I have the same problem....and counting the views on this subject, I would say that this a continuous problem.  I have 2 cameras... both were working on wireless and registered (working both on the Dlink account...and app).  Had to reset one....and now nothing... I have tried all the wired, reset...logging into camera..., but still get the..."There was a problem saving your settings." when I get to the password...I have reset it multiple times and put passwords on and left them blank... I can look thru the cam on my router and the 'main console' program, but I want it REGISTERED under my account so I can watch them thru my phone...

With all the problems and time I have wasted on these cameras, I am thinking about just returning these wonderful products...

WHY IS THERE NO WAY TO REGISTER THE CAMERA DIRECTLY ONLINE?  in cases like this where the error message doesn't tell you anything worthwhile?

1) Try without special characters in the password.
2) try with a different browser (chrome/firefox/ie)...

please report back any success

I had to update the firmware on the unit and also use the most current set up wizard.

Still having issues with a 2nd unit though....

Where does one find the most current set up wizard? The D-Link website is not sufficiently forthcoming with that information.

Very good question. DLink has a serious problem there.

teej, I split your post to a new thread on the DCS-932L board: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=55372.0
