DIR-655 dies when the wired computer goes to sleep
« on: January 26, 2009, 11:58:18 AM »

My desktop computer is connected to LAN1 port. When it goes to sleep then my router drops the lines, my wired computer and my wireless devices are disconnected. The router doesn't response on its ip address and I can't reconnect until I restart it.

Has anyone already experienced the same? Does anyone know a solution? (Please don't answer me to switch energy save off...)

I experience this only with my wired desktop computer. My notebook which is usually connected wireless can go into sleep mode without causing any problem to the router.

A new experience.. If I download a torrent, after some minutes (10-15 min) the router drops WAN line and I'm unable to connect, I have to switch off and on the router.
Is there solution/suggestion for this?

Did you do a firmware update? If so, reflash.

No, I'm on v1.11.

Is this only with torrents? When yes, configure your BT client to open less connections (up and down)

Set BT port to lower priority in QoS.

Set BT port to lower priority in QoS.

Does not affect the number of ports opened (half/full). Dropping line indicates a flooding. But you could always give it a try. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. :D

Actually QoS weighs port based traffic on connections. It will limit the availiblity of ports based on lower QoS numbers.

....but only when there is 'competition' between different data streams and only one way, isn't it  ;)

Only extending the threads to get to the Godlike status. That's my mission this weekend :-)

Set BT port to lower priority in QoS.

Now I looked at this....  :o  It sounds short and easy, but I have no idea what I should do in QoS for lower BT priority!  :-[
