Cannot open ports on router
« on: July 16, 2011, 12:19:25 AM »

Its been ages, a lot of googling but still cant open the ports 2300 -2400 (udp, tcp)on router. What I do isthe following.

1. Open ports on router in port forwarding.

2. Add the triggers as well  in  APPLICATION RULES with the ports. Triggers are 47624 and 6073.

3.  Try both Dis and Enable UPNP. Even try the DMZ enabled settings.

4. Disabling firewalls on Laptop and router. Try both ways on DMZ's(enable and disable) settings on router. Check everything.

Still when I check on websites about the ports and they are shown closed (NOT STEALTH).
Router uses a firmware 4.0. I have a windows 7 64 bit system. I use wireless.

Note: All the steps are performed in a combinations manner to see if there is any possibility of opening ports. Please solve this.

What ISP service do you have? DSL or Cable?
What ISP modem do you have? Stand alone or does it have a built in router by chance?

What FW version is currently loaded?
What HW version is this router?

Setup Reserved (Static) IP addresses on the router for your devices.
Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Ensure Advanced DNS Service is disabled if you have this option.
Ensure DNS Relay is enabled.
Set Firewall NAT to Endpoint Independent for both TCP and UDP.
