How to create multiple RAID 1 volumes?

I would like to create multiple RAID 1 volumes on my DNS-325.  Right now, I can only create one RAID 1 volume.  I want to use Time Machine from my iMac and Macbook Pro and need a separate RAID 1 volume for each.  That way, I don't have to waste the entire 2TB on just backups.

This is a must-have feature.  Without it, the DNS-325 is just a really expensive external drive directly attached to the network.

You can not do this. If want multiple logical volumes on the one RAID field, buy Infotrend.  ;D

Maybe you should buy NAS with four slots. Put inside two biger and two smaller disks and create two RAID1 fileds.  Yes I know. It is expensive.

Also note, current DNS-325 does not work with the time machine client in just released OSX Lion.
For better or worse, I've put my backups on the non-raided volume, figuring there is a working set on the mac;  yes, i'd loose the history if the DNS-325 failed, and yes, both DNS-325 and mac could fail.. just depends on how paranoid you want to be... and your usage model...

I have several PC laptops and one MacBook Air. I had planned to buy a DNS-325 for use as a backup unit for all machines (with Time Machine for the MBA). Does the above mean it's not possible to do it, ie. you need to dedicate the entire volume to Time Machine?! Please bear in mind I'm a NAS, RAID and Mac newbie (but otherwise reasonably tech savvy). Btw, my MBA still has Snow Leopard, since I'm aware of the Lion issue.
