DNS-320 and Samsung EcoGreen F4EG 2TB 32MB 3.5" SATA II
« on: August 04, 2011, 03:17:53 AM »

Hi folks! 1 newbie here...

I bought DNS-320 and 2X Samsung EcoGreen F4EG 2TB disks. Even those are not in supported-list, I thought that they should work. Maybe I failed this :S

I can format this RAID1, if I make only 1 volume. If I try to create more volumes, it just says "Formatting 0%" during volume2 format. System will be jammed.

DNS-320 does not allow me to create more than 2 volumes with RAID1? The second volume will be automatically the rest of disk, and it does not ask the size of the volume anymore?

Any other ideas, than buy new disks? And does it allow more volumes than 2? I have planned to create separate volumes to DLNA-media, family members, P2P and backups, but it seems to be impossible with RAID1?

Tried to Firmware 2.00 and 2.01b. Now back to 2.00 because had problems with beta.

Did those drives not have a fault with them that was resolved by a new firmware for the drives from Samsung. Not sure if it related, but maybe worth a try.

Not related, with or without patch it worked fine on this NAS.

TS, did you perform a factory reset after upgrading the NAS firmware?

Nope... just the normal restart. Should I do factory reset also?
