Can't configure DNS-320 with OS Linux and FreeBoxV4
« on: August 14, 2011, 03:49:16 PM »

I've just bought a D-Link DNS-320 and I can't access to web interface to configure it.  >:(
My OS is Linux (Mageia) and my private network is managed with a FreeBox V4 (DHCP + router)

Can someone help me  ;)

I don't know Mageia or FreeBox but I just logged onto a 320 from a PC running Fedora 14 and FireFox (ver 3 I think).

I noticed that FireFox has an annoying habit of immediately converting

http://Nas-Office

to

http://www.Nas-Office.com

and then giving me a 404 error. To connect to the NAS I had to first connect to the router (I know its IP address) and check the DHCP leases to find the IP address of the NAS. Once I entered the IP address of the NAS into FireFox I was presented with the usual login screen and was able to do all the normal things.

I don't know if that helps or not but it is all I have to offer I'm afraid.

I assume you have a switch between your freebox and computers and NAS.

If that is the case then you could try entering http://192.168.0.32 into your browser address bar (that is the default ip address of the DNS-320).  That works for me - I have a 24 port gigabit switch and the freebox is the DHCP server and access to the INet.

@ ivan :
I actually have a switch ... and http://192.168.0.32 is the good  IP address of the DNS-320  :)

@ Jack Ryan :
I have tried with Konqueror which do not convert http://Nas-Office to http://www.Nas-Office.com but I think Nas-Office is not in the DNS neither in the hosts table, so the system can't resolve the IP address

Thank you guys
