Thanks furry, that's what was confusing me as I read through the sticky, I was thinking "okay, where in the heck do I reserve an IP address for the xbox's?

I googled it and found this website that may help other users set up a reserved IP address:

http://www.techknowlogy.jigsy.com/entries/general/multiple-open-nat-xboxes-one-internet-connection-not-possible---wrong

Thanks again for your patience and help!

XS, here's how I think of it.  You're always making the devices ask for their address from the router.

So the router is "holding" their place in line and "punches their card" when they show up.   :P

Ya, I didn't add specific details of reserving IP addresses. Sorry. It is a bit detailed in LIMEs PS sticky.  ;D

haha yeah I wish I knew how to reserve an IP address earlier, would have save me a headache, lol.
Anyway, am I supposed to enable this too?  If I do it only works for one IP address...

"Advanced/GAMING:
Select the Enable check box, then scroll down to the Application Name drop down list and select Xbox Live. These will auto-fill the open boxes. Enter the IP address of the console into the IP address box that you want to add to the list."

Well, after a few hours of frustration the router is set up per the sticky and XBL has never ran better!!! Thanks Furry!!!!!

Anyway, I am trying to understand the game fuels priority settings,  Why is one port set to 40 and the other set to 60?
I mean why not lower and why not closer together?

Theres been speculation about priorities and how they REALLY work however the main part about priorities is that if you have items set for 1 which is the highest priority and you have other devices that are on the network, it's possible that the device(s) set up for priority 1 will starve out the bandwidth and internet traffic to the other devices when there all online at the same time. Thus if you lower the priority from 1 to say 10, other devices should be able to get there fair share if bandwidth. This also gives rise to the question, why not put all devices in the priority list. Yes, you can, why I added 2 PCs in the example to show that along with the high priority xboxes, PCs added in with a lower priority setting also works and this ensures that the PCs still get bandwidth while xboxes have higher priority. I presume there are various ways of setting up the priorities, just need to know what your needs are and where to place them.

FYI, after you get the router all set up, I would save off the configuration to file so that if you have to factory reset the router, all you need to do is to reload the file and you won't have to manually type in anything again. Saves time.

Good Idea!  Yeah I added my PC to the rules list and gave it priority of 200 like you did.  I have a wireless PC, DirectTV, WiFi network turned on for wireless cell phone.  I think I will add the directTV to the rules list too.  The Wii will never be used at the same time when I am on XBL since they are connected to same TV.

Is adding a rule the same as port forwarding?
Sorry for all the Q's, I am tinkerer and I like to know how things work. :D

Hey, a dump question is a unasked question. Ask away man.

I did forget to mention that not all devices really need to be in the rule. If device only need a small portion of bandwidth, like DirectTV and things that only need to make contact with the Internet on occasion or devices that don't need a lot of bandwidth, then your safe in keeping these devices out of the rule. Just put in ones that you know will suck up the bandwidth.  ;)

Sounds good!
Is adding a rule to the ports the same as port forwarding like portforwarding.com does?

I think so in part as Gamefule seems to handle some port forwarding. I don't know for sure. I haven't use actual Application or port forwarding rules at all since i do most of what I need thru Gamefuel.

Just wanted to update on one of my earlier posts concerning manual vs auto upload speed.
Here is my findings:
I ran several and I mean several different speed tests and ping tests with this set to manual 2meg UL and with it set to auto where my speed boost would indicate I have 5meg UL.

At first I thought I was on to something because my first runs showed a lower jitter on ping test but as I ran more of them it was just coincidence and results ended up the same.  Obviously my upload speed was capped at 2 meg so that's where it maxed out on speedtest.net.

Now in game (XBL), I really did not see that much of performance difference, however I did notice with my upload speed capped my bandwidth in blacks would not max out at 10000Kbps on the options screen.  I also noticed I would not get host as much with my upload speed capped at 2meg.

Conclusion, I left this setting to auto to help me get host more since when I do get host 9/10 times I have an awesome connection with zero lag.

Good info man. Thanks for sharing. Hope it works well for you.

Was curious what happens if you type in a manual setting of 4096 for UPlink speed?

My advertised speed is 15/2 with power boost 18/4.

Yeah Furry I really can not thank you enough, cable, this router, your sticky has literally change this game for me and it is so much fun now running around and not camping so much because your internet sucks.  Anyway, if I set it 4096 or any speed really, on speedtest it will be capped at that speed and in Black ops to get a max bandwidth rating of 10000Kbps I have to have set to at least 2.5 to get it 10000Kbps everytime in black ops.
