client associated twice before being secured and linked
« on: August 19, 2011, 02:10:07 PM »

I'm just wondering why my computer is being associated twice before being secured and linked when it obtains an IP address from the DIR 655 router. I am using the DWA-552 wireless card to connect to it. When I first started using them together, this wasn't happening. Then, all of a sudden, one day it just started showing "above message repeated 1 times" just below the log entry for the client being associated". Anyone have a clue why this is happening?

Thanks

Probably a failure to get a good connection on the 1st attempt. Is the PC running well after it connects?

maybe windows glitched and started using its WZC service or vice versa, maybe the native software for the NIC started running properly....

Or it could have tried AES and downgraded to TKIP, or visa versa.

It's set to use AES only, WPA personal and Wireless N only. It's probably no big deal, but I was just curious why it might be happening. Thanks for everyone's input. It is much appreciated. Here is a snip of the log file showing what I am talking about.

I think thats just how it supposed to be collecting data for the logs. Nothing to worry about. If the router is running and working, Enjoy it.  ;)
