I can say this is correct for mkv files, don't know for tiff.

Added...

I also had mentioned the management of .srt subtitle files by the DNs's DLNA server.

This is was previously listed as the last item on the wishlist

There is one feature that I would find very valuable. Not sure if it is already in the list.

The backup feature (LAN from PC to DNS) should be able to continue the backup from the point it was executing, in case the backup was interrupted, for example, if the PC was shut down in the middle of the process. Currently, the DNS window show that the backup "Failed", and reschedules the backup (in case it is configured that way) for the next date in the schedule. In this way, you may end up with incomplete backups over and over again, and so not having a valid backup at all. The "ideal" way would be that the backup would restart as soon as the PC is detected on line again.

Added...

Agree that the list is growing way to fast, and updates are coming was too slow. ::) ::)

Agreed! ;)

Due to the growing size of our firmware wishlist, I posted a separate locked sticky thread titled "DNS-325 - Firmware Wishlist [Master List] located here. This separate thread contains a mirror of our list (with only 1 post!) for easy reference.  I'll update the master list as changes are posted on this thread.

Please post your comments on whether you like this approach, or think it's a bit too confusing. Or do you have a better idea?  ???

Thanks for your support.  :)

Like the approach...
BTW... The latest Squeeze Center (now Logitech Media Server) includes a DLNA client to support the Logitech Revue.  There is no transcoding included as yet.

Solve the problem of "local backup" with OSX

http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=44817.0

I read your referenced thread. Before I add this item, I'll need a few more users to validate that local backup via OSX isn't functioning properly (i.e. and not a configuration issue).

As a minimum, I can confirm, that the URL shown in User's Guide on page 91 definitely won't pass the validation routine in JavaScript code. So either the UG or JavaScript routine needs a fix.
Also I haven't managed to make Windows-style \\server\path connection work under OS X.
Seems, that this is a OS X feature, not a bug:
