Hello, I am a new poster and am new here.
I have a new D-Link DNS-321 with 2X WD 500GB SATA drives and all seems to be working well except that now my Dell XPS-420 does not want to go into sleep mode as long as the DNS-321 is connected and powered on. If I shut down the DNS-321, the Dell goes into sleep as normal. When the DNS-321 is connected to my router, and powered on, and I command the Dell to sleep, it starts to and the power button light even starts blinking as normal. But then after a few seconds, it wakes up again on its own.
I do have the Dell's LAN card set not to wake up the computer in the BIOS so I am not sure if the issue is with the Dell or with the D-Link NAS. All I know is shutting down the NAS allows the Dell to go to sleep normally.
My monitor does go into the powersaving mode not come back on until I press a key so the computer is doing something, but not sure what. Any ideas or suggestions?
Thank you in advance for any replies.
