Connection with External DNS Server
« on: September 22, 2011, 12:56:05 AM »

I can able to communicate with external nodes(wan nodes) with my existing configuration when I addressed them with their IP address but whenever try to connect using computer name it shows message "Network path not found". I guess this is for interruption of communication with the external DNS server.
Also follow the steps shows at the DLINK manual "DFL-800_1600_2500-How_to_configure_DNS_Relay" to configure dns relay rules, but no result. Can ping the external dns server but when try to connect node by calling their name, it not works.. NO RESULT..!!! :(

Waiting for help....

If you want to call WAN computers by their NetBIOS names, you need use WINS server

It's not possble.
WINS is totally Microsoft's feature, almost any other 3rd side applications not working.
So, add WINS feature on any your Windows Server and add its IP into DHCP.
