Just to inform you that I bought a Seagate external drive FreeAgent® GoFlex™ Ultra–portable Drive.

I disassemble it and install the HDD inside the DIR-685 router, and it fits and works nice.

This is a cheap option to get an HDD for that router.

Wouldn't this solution significantly impact the internal temperature and airflow?

also SSD is an option for the 685 too.
