Network Breeched
« on: February 06, 2009, 02:36:32 PM »

I need some help, somebody appears to have been on my wireless network. I am using WPA2-Personal, TKIP-AES. My key is 56 characters long. I am using MAC address filtering. I also hide my network. Two days ago I was just checking my settings and I noticed that I had an extra MAC address in my list. The number did not match anything in my network. Next I noticed that my Wii was showing as connected to my network. I found this hard to believe because it was not turned on. So, to make sure, I unplugged it. It was still showing as connected. Has somebody penetrated my network and spoofed my MAC address? Is there anything else I can do to lock up my system? I also run Kaspersky Internet Suite. My OS's are Vista home premium and Windows 7. Any help would be appreciated

Change your WPA2 key often and change the router's access passwords.

Can you ping the IP address of the Wii that is supposedly disconnected?

Good question, I just blocked the wii completely. I have since changed my log on for the router and changed my 64 character wpa2 key. So far so good. Maybe I will change it back and see if I can get them to come back.
