So I have a "VTech" DECT 6.0 cordless phone system - single-base/single-handset. It sits about.... 5-6 feet away from my DIR-655 (no direct LoS). What's interesting (and annoying) is that whenever I pick up the handset and turn it on... my WLAN resets. You know, the "wireless XXX disconnected: received deauthentication" message.
Now I did some research on DECT 6.0 and found out that it's supposed to be wi-fi friendly AND run at 1.9GHz. Now why would a device running at THAT frequency interfere with my 2.4GHz WLAN?
(I also found out that there are a lot of potential health issues with DECT since it's basically a miniature cellphone tower in your house, but that's another issue)
I've already started scouring my local stores for a decent 5.8GHz cordless system, hopefully that one won't screw around with my WLAN :/
