Vista Security - Newbie Question
« on: February 08, 2009, 04:20:16 PM »

Hi Guys,

I have been running a DNS-323 for a while but am having some problems with security.  Basically I want anyone on my network to access all files.  Eg. On my laptop I have 2 users setup, myself and wife.  Unfortunately when she creates a file, I can't read it when I am logged in as myself.

I have a password with my Vista login, but she doesn't (not sure if that makes a difference).

1. Is there a way I can simply give all permissions to all users easily.
2. I run a Xerox PE-220 printer off the usb port which seems to work sometimes and not others.  I noticed there are plenty of issues with the print server but was wondering whether there are any tricks to get some stability into the print server ?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Just using the DNS-323 as its default setting will give access to all users. You can do this by simply going to Tools<System and Restore to Factory defaults. If you do not want to do this you can goto the Network access rules were you added your users and remove the rules you added then create a rule for all users with R/W permissions.
