I am thinking of getting a couple of Linksys Wireless G Internet Video Cameras to hook up to network via my D-Link DIR655.
The info I have read say that many ISP assign a new IP address to a connection from time to time or when your Internet connection is restarted.
To rectify this a service from LInksky called SoloLink DDNS is a service offered by Linksys that is provided with the Linksys Internet Video Camera. The new SoloLink service is a DDNS service that keeps track of the IP address of the camera, even when it changes. With an easy to remember web address that you select, the camera’s video stream can be found quickly and easily.
I have read somewhere about DDNS with the DIR655, is there a way that I can have the DIR655 to do this instead of paying out for the Linksky service.
Don't know anything about this so any help would be greatly appreciated.
