Hello

I have a problem
Since two days i try to connect DLNA server between my PS3 and my computer but it doesn't work.
My PS3 is connected to my box and from the box leaves a RJ45 cable which is connected my DIR 655.
All my computer are connected on my DIR 655.
The IP adresses of DIR655 are 192.168.0.xxx and of my box they are 192.168.1.xxx

When I put the router  192.168.1.xxx i have this message :

"The addressing of the Internet side learnt thru DHCP conflicts with the addressing selected for the LAN side. Internet communications will be disabled until you have changed the LAN side addressing to resolve the problem."

Have you a solution of this problem?

Sounds like a IP conflict. First some questions:

1. When you say "box" do you mean your modem? Your computer? A Dlink "Boxee"? Cable box (aka cable receiver?).

2. What does your network consist of?
A. What is the model number of your modem?
B. What port on the router does the ethernet from the modem connect to?
C. Do you have some devices connecting to the modem and some to the router?

3. What are you trying to do? Stream from your computer to your PS3? Stream from a local server (NAS) to your PS3? Stream from your PS3 to your computer?

If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.

Is there anyway you can bridge this modem?
If not, does this modem have a DMZ? If so, you might try putting the 655 IP address in the Modems DMZ.

That is no ordinary modem. Looks to be modem/wireless router/VOIP/TV over IP.

Are you sure about this? From what I can find, the "modem" doesn't have a WAN port, as seen here

Thats a problem, since they are on different networks, DLNA doesn't apply. You will need to set a static router from the DIR-655 to the modem. Instructions below.

Ok, that is possible.

Instructions for Static route on DIR-655 (Assuming your on a PC)

1. Open Browser on PC and go to 192.168.0.1 and login
2. Advanced > Routing
3. Create Route

A. Name - Modem
B. Destination IP - 192.168.1.1
C. Netmask - 255.255.255.0
D. Gateway 192.168.0.1
E. Metric 1 and Interface WA[/li]

This is assuming your modem's LAN gateway is 192.168.1.1 and your routers LAN gateway is 192.168.0.1. The problem with this is how it will conflict with other functions of the router. But I will base my suggestions on that when you give feedback.

Thanks for your answer, but i have a answer from Dlink who say to connect my modem on a LAN port and yet it works !!!

yea, your kind of giving away all the abilities of this router this way though. You can still use WISH, but Game-fuel and other such abilities are lost in this configuration. Glad it worked for you though.

you may want to get your self an external network switch and use that along with the router. Place all of your wired devices on it.

I try your solution but it doesn't work. My Dlink does not connect to the internet

Well I based it the fact that you said you got a IP conflict when you changed your router to 192.168.1.x for gateway, so that made think your modem was already giving the router a 192.168.1.x for WAN. As long as your modem's and router's gateway are different, it shouldn't cause a conflict. Then you just router 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1. Your routing the gatways, not the IP the gateway's are giving out.
