Problems with USB HD

Hi,
after copy things from my usb hd to the NAS, I tried to delete some stuffs but I received a message Cannot delete a file. Access is denied.  Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use.
How can I delete these files from my NAS??
