Bittorrent has stopped on my 1.08fw, update is the answer?
« on: November 03, 2011, 03:56:07 AM »

Hi all,

First post so bare with me.

My bittorrent has stopped downloading now for many months and i really am trying to get it up and running again but not having much luck. I have been reading on the forums and online about what could be the cause but still no joy.
If i put a torrent to download it will just sit there and not get any seeds and not download. It was working fine but now it no longer works.
My firmware is 1.08 and i live in the UK. I have read that people are upgrading to 1.09 and later but on the support page for the UK our latest firmware is only 1.08 which is what i am running. On the US site it allows you to download 1.09 but warns you that the firmware is only for units in the US and will rain terror on your device if you use it elsewhere. Is this the case? Will upgrading my firmware getting my downloads back going again?

All ports are open and settings are the same as when the unit was downloading, i have tried different torrents from different sites, still no joy. Help.....

Thanks for your time.

Could be something simple as a bad or missing Internet Gateway IP address or DNS server.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.

My DNS and Gateway are correct and read the same as what is on my router.

I have also removed the torrent app, re-installed it etc with no joy.

I have the same problem.  FW is 1.08 and BT application is ver 1.0 (still listed as current on D-Link site).  My most recent successful use of the BT application was Oct 24, 2011.  Deactivated and reactivated the BT App but, as of 11-4-2011, it still does not work.

BT is again working on my DNS-323.  I restarted a STOPed Torrent and after doing so I was able to add and start new Torrents.  If anyone with this issue tries this hope they update this thread on the outcome.

Hi,

I have at present no torrents in my download list, is that what you mean by re-starting a stopped torrent? I have added torrents from different sites, stopped them, started them, removed them, added them again and they all sit there not connecting to any peers.
All ports open and checked.

Yes, I restarted a stopped Torrent Down-Load.  The new Torrent that I added that initially didn't start but started after I restarted the stopped Torrent.  But it did not complete.  After 93 MB it stopped the down-load.  However, this might be because there were no seeds at the time.
