Hi, I did a little bit of local internet searching and I learned that my modem can actually be a router as well. So i think all i have to do is access the modem and configure it be routed to my dir 655 maybe that will fix the issue..

update: it turns out that i can set the modem to DCHP that fixes the problem.

Yea, sorry.  Sometimes its really hard to troubleshoot through a forum. Different country, different kind of internet then I am used to, different kind of modem, etc. Glad you found some info though. It would make sense turning on DHCP would help, since the problem was with the PPPoE handshake I think. Just keep in mind though, having your modem set to DHCP will change how your internet works with games, email clients, P2P...anything that uses UPnP or outgoing ports. Either way, if it works, it works, and glad you found a remedy.

to be honest i never touched my router yet only doing some hard search and stuff..guess what there was a blackout here and then when i restarted my router the orange light disappeared...its so weird....
