Unable to view DVR from WAN
« on: November 12, 2011, 09:54:38 AM »

This is my first post and not sure I am in the right forum.

I have a DVR I want to watch over the Internet using an ISP provider (dyndns). The DVR is set to IP 192.168.0.100 with ports 5000/50001 and DCHP.

The router is an old D-Link 614+. The router picks up the DVR configuration in the firewall settings. I add a virtual server using private IP 5000 and public 5001.

I can access the DVR using 192.168.0.100:5001 over the LAN but not from the Internet entering mypage-dyndns-ip.com:5001.  It says unable to connect. I looked in the router's log and there is an entry "DHCP lease IP 192.168.0.100 to unknown".

I even turned off all security settings to allow anything into the network, but that didn't help either.

I also tried to get to the router from the outside using remote management but I can't get in whatever I try.

I thought this was a straight port forwarding thing, but it's killing me, especially sine I had it working at one time, but then reset the router to add something else. I should have save the configuration, but didn't.

Could someone please help me before I go crazy? Thanks.
