Until I installed my new D-LINK DIR-655 I was able to play all my games. I have ports 1-50000 opened (i run a variety of different servers are various times for my clan). Now i cannot join any games and when i do it get this error in my log:
Blocked outgoing ICMP packet (ICMP type 3) from 192.168.1.130 to 8.6.3.33
. I have tried everything. I put my computer in DMZ, I disabled SPI, I disabled all firewalls both on the router and on my computer. It simply doesn't work. Going back to my old router, it works fine.

I need help.

Did you turn on Universal Plug and Play (UPnP)?  Its on the Advanced Networking page under the Advanced tab.  I have steam and have had no issues with it.  I do not have any port forwarding set up, just letting UPnp handle it.

I have this same problem as i told in another thread. It just starts to block whatever it feels like middle of netpoker or just when using only browser etc. Can not get to net or any game server in few seconds/minutes, and after that it starts to work ok. Annoying i can say.
UPnP on/off
SPI on/off
ALG on/off
TCP & UDP endpoint independent (others tried too)
etc. etc.

Yeah I also have TCP & UDP endpoint independent. Don't know that ALG is.

I only have issues when trying to connect in a Source Engine game, my browser works fine.

All my Steam games work fine without any port forwarding or changing firewall setting.
Blocking ICMP should not affect you as it is typically not used to send and receive data.
ICMP is normally just used for ping or trace routes and should not affect a game unless you are the one running the server.

I do run servers and that works just fine.

All I know is that when I try to join a game at the exact same time I get the mentioned log on the router at the same time to the same ip. It there a way to unlock the ICMP packets?

Advanced Network

Tick the box next to Enable WAN Ping Respond

Do you have another firewall or Windows firewall activated?

If so then you may need to unblock ping there too.

Nope. I am using Windows 7 beta with UAC and Windows firewall disabled. I have no firewall. I have AVG Free.

What about Windows Defender?

BTW - I run Vista and 7 under the built-in administrator account so UAC is mute/void as well as any virtualiztion of files/registry entries.
I disable Defender completely.

I have Windows 7 64-bit + DIR-655 1.21beta firmware + Steam (HL2 Deathmatch Player here) ...

no rules or QoS set on my 655... everything works fine...

Windows Defender & Windows Firewall is enabled on my system; no security products installed.
