DDNS issue
« on: November 13, 2011, 10:12:51 AM »

I have a DIR-655 Hardware Version: B1      Firmware Version: 2.03NA.  My ddns host IP address won't update using the router client, I see log messages on the router that says that the ddns has been updated but its not showing the updated IP address on the hosts list. The PC clients works though.

Note:When the PC ddns client updated, I manually changed the IP address on the dyndns host page to something different (so I could tell if the router would update it correctly) and I set the timeout period on the router to 1 hour which forces the update every hour, I get the update DDNS success log message, but the IP address does not update on the hosts page.

I'm using www.dyndns.com

DO you have DNS relay and Advanced DNS services ON or OFF? Just curious.

I disabled both, but it didn't help.

I had this same issue.  I started out with firmware 2.00NA and ddns would not update, so I update to 2.03NA and still no luck.  I did a factory reset back to 2.00NA then upgraded to 2.01NA and it worked perfectly.

Thanks for confirming that it's a firmware bug.

Nickml, please let us know if you go back to v2.01 and if it works for you there.

I downgraded to 2.01NA, my normal ddns account did not work but my ddns dlink account did work (although it states that it's disconnected).

Have you done any more work on this?
I have notified Dlink about this. There could be an issue with this. Will post if I hear any thing back.

I haven't done any more work with the issue. Thanks for contacting Dlink, I emailed them a few days ago about the issue but they never responded.

For now, does the router work if you use standard ISP DNS or if you manually input DNS addresses under Setup/Internet/Manual?

I tried that but that had no effect on the problem.
