Thanks Furry. I did not try your suggestions since the router works fine, just doesn't populate the wireless device list. Anyway, it should just work as advertised and not need a tonne of workarounds.

Having said all that I reset the device and started again and found the problem - it is clearly a software issue that I will report to DLink.

Here it is: If you have 3 or less wireless devices, the list populates. If you add a fourth or more, the list goes empty. Switch a few off and the list populates again. So if you want to check your wireless speeds, turn a few things off first!

So, not a major problem, just irritating!

So my laptop only connects at 130Mbps, what's with that? Can it be bumped up to 300 somehow? (I think I saw that in another thread so I'll go take a look).

Thanks for your help and have a great New Year!

I updated the other day to v2.03. I will test your steps out and see if I can reproduce. I have about 4 wireless devices. I'll report back findings.

Update, I see that running Mixed G and N modes that the list only shows 3 devices, if I put another online, the list goes away. I'll see if I can find out some info from DLink. Maybe a limitation on how many devices it's looking at for the status.

I have had the DIR-655 Rev for over a year and I have never been able to make wireless devices connected to the network to see each other. I upgraded to firmware 2.07 today and followed all the suggestions posted on this forum and nothing seems to work. I have reserved the IP addresses as suggested but no wireless devices appear on the status window.

Now that so many apps allow you to control your tablet or Roku via the network, it is becoming a big issue for me to get this problem solved.

Any solutions?

Thanks

Need to downgrade to v2.03. 2.07 is not a good build. I noticed that only 3 or 4 devices will appear in the wireless status when all connected. Any more devices then that it wont display.

I downgraded to 2.03 and followed all the suggestions posted on December 30, 2011. Share Point is working again but I still can't see any of the wireless devices and apps based on the network can't detect them either.

Currently I have 2 Roku adapters, an android phone, an android tablet and a PC laptop connected. I also use a wired switch to connect a printer and 2 external HDDs to my network. I use mixed wireless G and N. Only the wired switch and the router are visible for the android devices.

Any other suggestions?  Thanks again for your support.

Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
Try setting a manual channel to a open or unused channel.
Try disabling wifi security as a test to see if your devices can connect. They should.

What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto.

I changed security to WPA2 only. TKIP only and now I can see the 2 Roku adapters and my Android Tablet. Fing app on Android devices can't see other wireless devices yet.

You'll only see about 3-4 devices in the status window when they are all online, I tested this out and could only see 3 out of 5 devices I had connected. Not sure why this is.

I changed security to WPA2 only. TKIP only and now I can see the 2 Roku adapters and my Android Tablet. Fing app on Android devices can't see other wireless devices yet.

Update: I had to reconnect one of my Roku adapters that was not working after all the changes to the router and after that, no wireless devices are shown again.  I might consider changing tha router to other model that doesn't have this problem. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
