Whats the bug?

"Bug" as in why doesn't the latest firmware allow downgrading? Is there specific reason why D-Link is doing so given that newly purchase DNS-320 comes with firmware 1.00!!

That is not a bug the firmware has been coded that way. I do not have details as to why but informed that it is this way by design and not a bug.

Then is there an alternative way to downgrade for end-user like myself?

why would you downgrade?

Simply because certain (older) firmware release is more stable then the current one. FYI, if I had known earlier that upgrading to firmware 2.01b01 and above will disallow downgrading I would have stay away from it.

How is it more stable? Is there some issue with the current release?

Yes there's issue. P2P folder is not visible under Volume_1 using Samba. P2P\Completed cannot be added to DLNA server.
