I agree. This feature is included in the DCS-942L which contains firmware and a web interface that appear almost functionally identical to the DCS-932L (excluding the hardware additions in the DCS-942L).

Is telnet available with v1.02b03 ?
I've no success connecting to port 23 from win7 or putty.

I'm using 1.02b03 and telnet is available. Only thing is that it seems that the telnet daemon seems to die after some time of inactivity.

One trick I found - there's a way to send system commands to your camera, go to http://[camera ip-number]/docmd.htm and enter "telnetd". That should start the daemon and let you connect.
Dangerous little page of course - the webserver seems to run as root....

Thank you. That did the trick. Notices same as you. Telnet daemon stops after a few minutes. Maybe for security reason? Are there security script running check on other parts of the system also?

It seems that it only stops after reboot - once I get it restarted the daemon seems to keep running.
There are a few interesting scripts running but I haven't digged all that deep into what they are doing. I'm mostly interesting in stopping the mydlink service thingy. Doubt it's for security reasons though.

I'll update this as I go:

- Java no longer asks for username/password - works better too.
- VLC still reports ~30 audio while connecting to the audio.cgi file.
- Open ports: FTP, Telnet, HTTP, and HTTPS (was this the same as before?)
-- HTTPS presents a self signed cert, but DOES work

As of now:

One of my cam's seems to have died - I rebooted it a few times, still no luck. Tomorrow I plan on trying a wired connection ( see if it's the same issue as http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=43918.0 ) and resetting it.

Interesting thing - I can see the connection on my wireless router, but I don't think it's gotten a DHCP IP address.

Are there any release notes available for this update?  Is this a D-Link firmware update or third party?  Just asking as the download link isn't to a D-Link site.

I haven't come across release notes for this firmware version. Despite the link, the firmware is provided by D-Link (not a third-party provider).

I have discovered a bug.  If any changes are made to the wireless settings and saved without physically re-typing the password the password will be lost.  Even if it the password is visible in the box when changes are made it will be lost if it is not retyped manually.

Can anyone reproduce this poster's issue on their DCS-932L?

I've made a separate thread about this issue, but in case that thread falls by the wayside I'd like to chime in that no matter what I do, I cannot get this firmware to produce anything beyond 15 FPS at the lowest resolutions, and 12 FPS at best at the highest.  I don't know if any of the previous firmwares had this issue though, I only recently purchased the DCS-932L.
