DWL-G730AP Pocket Router Client Mode Setup [SOLVED]
« on: November 26, 2011, 12:34:10 PM »

I had several problems when trying to setup this router, because certain steps were missing from the instructions. After a little research i was able to figure them out.

Problem: My Computer will not connect to my DWL-G730AP when its in client mode. It takes for ever to connect and then says limited or no connection.

Solution: Set your computer to a Static IP (you can change it back after setup):
You can do this by opening up network connections
Right click on Local Area Connections and click properties
In the opened window click on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and then click the properties button
Click "use the following IP Address" and enter IP e.g. (192.168.0.40)
Click on the subnet mask box and allow it to auto fill (255.255.255.0)
Click OK

Problem: When I enter in the DWL-G730AP default IP address (192.168.0.30) it keeps on telling me that I have to update my firmware even though its current. Will not let me reach the home screen.

Solution: Enter the following address http://192.168.0.30/apc_h_wizard.html
this will allow you to bypass that annoying screen
