gaming rule question
« on: November 27, 2011, 08:04:31 AM »

I was following the guide for setting up 2 xboxs for live and ran into a small snag. When I was trying to set the gaming rule for my second box I got an error message..the first one I get is that the name "xbox live" has already been used..I added a 2 to the name..then I get the error message that the ports are already in use.  Any Ideas?
The only reason I'm messing with this is because for some reason my second xbox all of a sudden came up with a moderate nat last night. Before that I had basically just plugged in this router and all was great..open nats on both boxes..everything worked great.

Need to use the Gamefule rule for multiple xboxes. Don't use the Gaming rules. Not needed.

I would try it without either first. UPnP should work automatically. If you run into a problem, just try turning off both Xboxes, turn off modem and router, turn on modem, wait until it syncs, turn on router, wait until it syncs, turn on 1 xbox, check that it's online and open NAT, then the other.

Not saying Furry's way doesn't work, because obviously it does, and not even saying my way is even the better way, just saying it is the easier way to try first. If you do it his way, can you let us know? We kind of have a gentleman's wager on something but need someone with 2 xboxes to test it.
