DIR-300 Internet problem
« on: December 05, 2011, 06:52:39 PM »

Dear All,
I've been using my DIR-300 for a while now with the latest firmware v.105 I found.
Recently, I'm been experiencing an issue with the internet connection being lost during night.

My router is connected via the WAN port to the ISP with a fixed IP from their side.
when I wake up in the morning, my internet connection is lost.
I go then to the web config page and press DHCP release then DHCP renew which seems to fix the internet connection.

My pc is directly connected via a wire to the DIR-300

Kindly Advise

Best Regards
Teppei

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off QoS options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

What wireless modes are you using?
What security mode are you using? Preferred is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES.
What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area?

Since this router isn't marketed in the U.S. from what I looks like, I would recommend you contact your local DLink office in your region for further help if we can't help you here. I hope can though. Let us know.

Hello Furry,

thanks for your swift reply.
I tried the steps you mentioned below and I will check the internet connection tonight.

as for the router, i'm not using the wireless. only wired connection.
i'm not using a modem connection. I have a motorola DTE wimax equipment that connects via an ethernet cable into the router WAN port and gives it an IP.

thanks
