DHCP requests thorough DAP units
« on: December 07, 2011, 11:12:48 AM »

Please forgive me.  I am trying out a DAP-1513 unit but there is no forum section for this?

My question seems to be general and might cover the other models also.

Do the DHCP request, from the attached LAN devices on the DAP, get pass to the DHCP "server?"

I believe however any DHCP request from devices connected to any DAP is forwarded on to the host DHCP server and router.

Well, at the moment, the DAP-1513 is not forwarding correctly the requests.  I need to set an IP address onto the device that is connected to it.

Is there any indication of a device IP address from the host router? Check the status page for WLAN devices that are connected?

What host router make and model do you have?

DAP-1513 gets a local address .28.  Then, with the "test" device connected and DHCP set, no IP. With IP set in the device, wireless client is listed with IP.

BTW:  I am running a separate DHCP server than the one built into the router

I have since moved the DAP-1513 to the correct network and to the entertainment area. The TV and Blu-Ray are getting an IP from the DHCP.  However, the 1513 seems to "disappear" from the network.  However, the attached devices remain.

I have tried both the 5.0Ghz and the 2.4Ghz networks.  The DAP-1513 will "disappear" until the unit is "power cycled,' no matter which radio is used.

Now, it seems that I can only access the configure web page when wired direct into the unit.  I can only access the pages over the wireless network 5 minutes after the DAP unit is "powered cycled."
