Endpoint independent equals no portforwarding needed?
« on: February 24, 2009, 05:10:05 PM »

Just one quick question, while running "endpoint independent" and without SPI enabled does that mean no port forwarding is needed?

It seems to me that all my ports on my laptop is open / stealth even though I've just forwarded two ports? (and for some odd reason the only "blocked" port is one of those two?)

Not unless you have enabled DMZ.

If there was two devices on your network, how would the router know where to send the data from the ports you speak of.  (Answer is, it can't, really, because you havent told it how to handle that situation either through UPNP, port forwarding, or DMZ configuration or plain old NAT)
