How to create a new share

I need to create a share for my Tomato router stats.  Because the programmer of the Tomato software went a little overboard and required username/password for this I need to create a share on the DNS-320 with a username and password.

I have no problem in doing this through the CLI (ssh), editing /etc/samba/smb.conf - the problem is this file is reset on reboots.

I need to know which script is resetting this file, or which file is used as the base for it.
