Received Deauthentication

What Received Deauthentication means?

I keep getting this when the Wii is connecting (wireless) to the DIR-655. It does not matter what kind of encryption I am using. Here is a sample:

[INFO]   Sun Sep 09 09:27:34 2007   Wireless system with MAC address x disconnected for reason: Received Deauthentication.
[WARN]   Sun Sep 09 09:27:22 2007   A network computer (Wii) was assigned the IP address of 192.168.0.198.
[INFO]   Sun Sep 09 09:27:21 2007   Wireless system with MAC address x associated
[INFO]   Sun Sep 09 09:25:33 2007   Wireless system with MAC address x disconnected for reason: Received Deauthentication.
[WARN]   Sun Sep 09 09:25:22 2007   A network computer (Wii) was assigned the IP address of 192.168.0.198.
[INFO]   Sun Sep 09 09:25:21 2007   Wireless system with MAC address x associated

Connection lasts 10-15 seconds!

What firmware are you currently running?
Also what encryption is currently being used?

I get this message using no encryption but access control via MAC address. The wireless client can normal connect AFTER i log into the router to see whats happening, very weird, V1.05 firmware. Maybe i will try encryption.

Hello
I have the same problem but when i disable mac address filtering the received deauthentication info on the log disappear. I'm using 1.10 firmware and wireless mode b,g and N and no WEP WPA etc. Weird thing is when i connect another laptops they all ok only mine is wrong. I have IBM T60 with INTEL wifi 3945abg card. I also have lot of wireless errors on statistics and i talk with tech support but they don't know why is it happend. No interference almost no wireless routers in the neighbourhood.

i was able to troubleshoot my wii issue tonight and it seems to be fixed...wii has been connected continuously for over 30 minutes now  :D
i have DIR-655 A3 firmware 1.10 with charter cable modem on dell dimension 4600 with windows xp home.  i had it set with WPA/WPA2 security settings, but on wii tech support site, under instructions for manual online setup, they list that wii only supports WEP, WPA, or WPA2, no combo of WPA/WPA2, so i changed it to WPA2 only, and that seemed to fix it.
i do have the WISH feature enabled, and MAC filtering, but i don't think either have anything to do with it, as it was happening before and after they were enabled.
if you are still having trouble, try changing your key, and reconfiguring your wii.  maybe that will help.  if you are more technologically savvy than me (as most people are), maybe you can do the manual configuration on the wii and figure it out that way.
