Can't stop recording

I have the DCS-942L camera and upgraded the firmware to 1.01. Now I cannot turn off the recording. Everytime I go to the live image the recording button is always on and I have to click it to turn off. I noticed that my hard drive was filling up and I found that it is because of the recording and storing the images in AVI format on the hard drive. My question is how do I turn this off so it stop recording? I have went thru every setting and everything  is turned offed. Am I missing something here?

Just want to say I am also having the same issue that is in sticky notes about not being able to send snapshot to email. Hope they fix this soon.
