My NAS never hibernates
« on: January 06, 2012, 05:49:42 AM »

This was working fine till last week, i went to bed leaving my PC working for a long copy of a couple of hours, it tooks till 1.00am, in the morning at 8.00am I could notice that the disc was spining and that sound strange to me. From this day the hibernate function does not work anymore.

I have version 2.00, and i have FTP, P2P, etc deactivated (I use only UPNP). any idea?

Thank you

Hi,
Try going back into the GUI settings and re-saving the hibernation setting again.  Then completely turn off the unit and restart.  If that doesn't do it, try to determine if any computer on your network is "calling" for the 320.  You might also go in and try re-saving the fan settings also.  Good luck

Additionally, try shutting down any devices on your network that may be accessing the DNS-320.  A hanging process may be polling the DNS-320 and preventing the unit from hibernating.

Does the NAS power light ever go off?

Try upgrading to firmware 2.02 as it fixes the fan non-stopping issue. Also it always good practice to perform a "restore to factory default settings" after each firmware upgrade.

NAS power light never goes off. I prefer to wait a bit more before upgrading because all the problems found in 2.02, however, I've performed a factory default settings reset and the problem has gone away
