Print Server issue.

I have Samsung SCX-3200 multifunction laser and 5 m. (16,4 f.) double shielding USB cable (http://logancable.com/usb-v-2.0-usb-a-plug-to-usb-b-plug2.html). This set work fine with directly connection to Windows 7 desktop computer.
When it connect to the DNS-320:
- I see printer in System Information - Printer Information :
Manuf.   Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.
Prod.       SCX-3200 Series

But don't print anything.
PS: printer add to Windows 7 with D-Link Manual.
But any printing documents does not appear in the print queue.

Please help!

Does your DNS-320 have a fixed IP address?

Have you installed the printer as a network printer in windows?  A local printer will not be transferred to a network printer, you have to set up a specific network printer.

Try reducing that length of USB cable to about 1.5 m.  Ethernet cat5 cable is more reliable over longer distances and I'm sure you can find room for the 320 near the printer.

From your answers I think you have hit a timing problem with the DNS-320 and the length of USB cable.

From the FAQ at usb.org:

1.   Why are there cable length limits, and what are they?

A:   The cable length was limited by a cable delay spec of 26ns to allow for reflections to settle at the transmitter before the next bit was sent. Since USB uses source termination and voltage-mode drivers, this has to be the case, otherwise reflections can pile up and blow the driver. This does not mean the line voltage has fully settled by the end of the bit; with worst-case undertermination. However, there's been enough damping by the end of the bit that the reflection amplitude has been reduced to manageable levels. The low speed cable length was limited to 18ns to keep transmission line effects from impacting low speed signals.

While the cable will just work from your PC to printer - 5 m is pushing it and assumes ideal conditions - I don't think the 320 was ever designed to work with that length of cable.

Have you tried it with a shorter cable?  If that works you have your answer.
