« on: March 11, 2009, 07:01:27 AM »

I'm on v.1.06 how often does the UPNP refresh? It seems as if nothing I have is showing up.i thought it was supposed to index changes as they were made.

I don't think the stock UPnP service does any automated refreshes or file/folder monitoring; after you add new files (or delete files) from your UPnP share, you need to log into the DNS-323's web GUI and run that refresh manually.

After that, it can take up to a few hours for your new files to begin broadcasting from the DNS-323, depending on the size of your media share.

Thanks, been trying to figure that out, I went on my PS3 and only a couple files are there.

I'm refreshing now, but it seems like it takes forever. It's been running for 90 minutes and is at 53% but barely moving anymore.. hopefully it's not stuck !

I'm just getting started with UPnP but so far I've been happy with Twonky.  I couldn't get anything to work right when syncing to a 360 but once I installed fun_plug and Twonky on the 323 everything worked just fine.  I have only tested with a couple files so I can't say how it will deal with a large media collection but the 360 did find everything I'd made available within a minute or so, which is completely acceptable.

We are still looking into the UPnP AV media server and improving the functionality.

I downgraded to firmware 1.05 from 1.06 as you can set the refresh rate in the 1.05 firmware. Works well with my PS3(wired connection).

A quick cheezy refresh is to change your start share folder, then change it back. That worked for me and it was very quick.
