Let's try mapping from Windows:

• Right click on "My Computer"
• Select "Map Network Drive"
• Enter "\\[IP_ADDRESS]\Volume_1"
• Press Finish
• You may be prompted for login credentials
• The mapped drive will appear in My Computer

Did you log into your router web interface to validate that the IP address you are using is the one assigned to the DNS-320?

The IP address should start with 192.168.x.x

First.  Have you tried opening network places on your PS - assuming you are using windows - and does it show the DNS-320?

Second.  If you are using windows have you cleared the DNS-320 through the firewall?

Third.  When you say you try mapping what do you actually do?

The IP address should start with 192.168.x.x

@ Java ---  well I'm not sure about 192.168.x.x cause my routers base is 10.0.0.x  so there the NAs is also 10.0.0.x .... so under attached devices in the router I find it as 10.0.0.x

OK.  Just confirm that you can access the DNS-320 web interface directly from your browser by entering http://10.0.0.10/  this should bring up the log in screen.  You may have done this but it isn't clear from your previous posts if you are doing this directly or using the cd.

Can you ping the device through a command prompt? Do you have another PC to create a test mapping? Did you consider using a dynamic IP address?

OK, back to basics.

After you log in to the web interface go to 'Management' --> 'Network Management' --> 'Lan Setup'  There you should have
'Static IP' marked
'IP Address' 10.0.0.1
'Subset mask' 255.255.255.0
'Gateway Address' ...  This should point to your gateway address on your network and will most probably be something like 10.0.0.XXX
'DNS1'
'DNS2'  DNS1 & 2 will depend on your setup.

If your settings are different please list them.

Some silly questions.  What operating system are you using? Have you selected Volume_1 as one of your network shares on the 320?  Can you see and access the 320 via W7 "Network" or XP "My Network Places"?  Please and thank you.
