Logitech Media Server 7.7.1
« on: March 02, 2012, 11:40:49 PM »

Hi everybody,

I ported the latest version of the logitech media server 7.7.1 to run as a modul for a specific IPTV PVR.

The IPTV PVR is available at http://pvr.unzureichende.info. This is a video recorder for IPTV.

The IPTV PVR and of course the module for the Logitech Media Server are free of charge.

Even if you don't need the IPTV PVR you can still use it to run the module for the logitech media server.

Best regards

An IPTV recorder. You can record unencrypted IPTV stream onto NAS disk.

Hi,

you need an IPTV provider. Usually the provider also offers a settop box which is used to watch IPTV. With the IPTV software you can use your DNS to records IPTV streamings on your DNS 325. Once you have recorded something, the software can be used to stream the recording to a PC or a TV which is capable of DLNA.

The installation is fairly easy. The software has to be copied to an usb stick an to the harddisk of the DNS. It uses fun_plug. The installation will be done automatically upon the next reboot.

Hi,

besides the module for the logitech media server, there are currently the following modules for the IPTV PVR

    MiniDLNA
    Thumbnailer
    Transmission
    Twonky
    debian Squeeze
    pyLoad

Even so you don't want to use the IPTV any of the other modules might be of interest to some of you.

Hi,

the logitech media server is a modul for the IPTV PVR. In order to run the module you have to install the IPTV PVR even so you don't have an IPTV provider.

The logitech media server from version 7.7.0 onwards can not only server squeezebox radios but also server as a Media Server. So if you have any
- music
- photos
- videos (which might have been recorded by the IPTV PVR but might also be from a different source)

those can be streamed to any DLNA compatible media player by the logitech media server

Best regards

In order to run the IPTV and any of the plugins you need to have an usb stick with at least 4 GB. The stick should be reasonabily fast.

Get the IPTV archiv from
http://pvr.unzureichende.info/dl/release/r7/iptv_pvr_20111111-1-armel.zip

Extract the contents to any directory on your PC.

Insert the USB Stick into the PC.
Copy the contents of the "usb" directory into the root  directory of the usb stick.
Copy the contents of the "nas" directory into the root directory of the first harddisc of the nas. ATTENTION: This will remove your current fun_plug file

Remove the USB Stick from the PC and insert it into the NAS
Reboot the nas.

Wait for about 10 minutes. You will now be able to access the IPTV PVR using the following
http://example:8081/
where example is the name of ip adress of your nas.
