WLAN Extensibility Module has failed to start.
« on: March 14, 2009, 11:43:28 PM »

Hi,

Anyone else getting:

Quote
WLAN Extensibility Module has failed to start.

Module Path: C:\Windows\system32\athihvs.dll
Error Code: 126

It's logged on every boot-up and every so often in the Windows Event Viewer under Administrative Events.

Running Windows Vista 32bit (x86) SP1 and using latest DWA-552 driver, which is build 7.6.1.204 and dated 1/13/2009. Same as the latest driver as on Windows Update.

The athivs.dll file does not exist on my system.

Please see: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc735960.aspx

Seems like another bug in the driver that needs to be fixed, and I quote from page above:

Contact the independent hardware vendor (IHV) provider for your hardware.

Thanks,

Will

Hi Will,

You might wish to include which Event Viewer Log you are seeing the Error in, referring to: Application, Security or System Errors, as well as which driver version you are running for the D-Link DWA-552 Wireless Adapter for better response.
