Yes in FW up to v2.03.
Thanks for your reply.
v2.03 appears to mean the hardware version is B.  Is it possible to turn it off?
My DIR655's hardware version is A4. I reviewed the configuration but could not determine the status of the WPS, not to mention how to turn it on or off.

Just disable it by removing the check mark next to Enable. Then SAVE settings.

It appears setting the security mode to None will disable WPS. But as far as I understand turning off the security and disabling WPS is not the same.  WPS can be turned off while the security mode is on.
WPS is 8 digit code generated by the security passphrases and is used to communicate between the access point and its client devices. I have to admit that I do not necessarily fully understand this but turning off WPS only means it cannot be intercepted and the AP functionality is unaffected.

No, I have not gotten it yet. What I meant to say is that your previous response can not be a solution of my problem as stated in the thread starter post.

So are you looking to use WPS or turn it off completely?

If your not going to use it, then I recommend turning it OFF. This does not effect any security modes like WPA, WEP or WPA2 in Setup/Wireless/Manual.

I want to turn off WPS only not the security mode all together: I want to keep the WiFi secured but the WPS turned off.

I previously looked and looked but overlooked it. Thank you very much for pointing it for me.
One question occurs to me now: What is the purpose of enabling the WPS except being able to retrieve the passphrases if forgotten?

Some devices like wifi printers and such have the ability to connect using the WPS Pin number when the WPS buttons are hit on the router and the device. It starts the communication and then on the device, you would put in the PIN that resides on the router into the device then they will connect.

I do not see any such button on DIR655. But anyway if the WiFi printer is once connected, can the WPS be turned off without breaking the connection?
