*Problem with two band new WD30EZRX drives.
I have searched the web for several hours and I'm pretty sure I've covered all possible reasons for the problem…except that these disks are not compatible with the WD30EZRX...or both brand new drives are faulty???
I have spoken to D-Link support - case ID (C05635611). Since these disks are not on their ‘official’ list, they had nothing to offer…except that I would have to buy 2 new ‘supported’ disks.
The 325 correctly see the drives as 3TB and the initialization process competes.
When the formatting hard drive process starts, it freezes at 0%.
After 30 minutes, still at 0%.
The drive light is on … steady no flickering. Cannot hear the disk spinning
The 325 power light is off
The 325 has been working well since Oct 2011. When I put the 1 TB drives back in, all is well…
Here's what I have done:
1) Reinstalled the firmware 1.02 (09/30/2011)
2) Added only one drive to the 325 (i.e. one bay empty) tried both Left and Right sides
3) Hard reset the unit back to factory (reset button on back).
4) Tried to install the disk using first the D-Link software and then the web interface
5) Tried to format the drives in my old Windows 7 box. The drive is not recognized as 3 GB; it is shows the size around 720 MB.
My main computer is a mini mac, so I have no other way to test these disks. Given the success of others, I suspect both of these disks could be faulty?
If there are any suggestions of what I can try next, it would be very much appreciated (outside of spending another $300+ for new drives)
Thanks
