I seems like all of the DIR 651 threads end up in this section and after a couple of days of searching and trying to fix this issue I figure I will try posting my problem here to see if someone with a little more experience can help me pinpoint whats causing this problem.
I live in an American military base in South Korea with internet provided by a LG, a local Korean company. I bought the router shortly after arriving and it worked right away out of the box. The router connects all my devices to the internet without problems, but for the life of me I can not get by PS3 to pick up the media servers nor can I get windows 7 workgroup or other programs (TVersity, media center) to see the PS3 as a device on the network. This was never an issue with the old beat up linksys router and COMCAST modem that I had back in the states. All features on the PS3 work without a problem and the little online gaming I do is working well so far, but I really would like to go back to having all of my computer's media available on my PS3/big screen/sourround sound.
I have disabled my windows firewall, I have uninstalled AVG, I have tried to set it up via a simultaneous wired connection to the router and i have run thru the gaming/QoS settings thread. I was careful to make changes one at a time, save the changes each time and note when there was more than one setting changed concurrently; I always restarted the PS3 after each change just to make sure and I rebooted the router a couple of times. After I ran thru just about everything and had restarted my system a million times I reset all the settings on the router to factory default and started over once again.
I am inclined to think it might be the modem, but nothing changes if I disconnect the modem and try to do it over the router without an internet connection. I was under the impression that something like media server takes place on the local network portion of the router and that connection to the internet is not necessary to share media on a LAN.
Anyways, I will post the answers to the ever present set up questions. The current configuration will be listed along with if it was changed in the past or not.
What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?

What ISP Modem do you have?
Its a NET&SYS MNG-2005. Local Korean modem, could find no info on the net about it but I don't think it has a built in router
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.
To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged.
Looking a the webpage it does not indicate an unbridged modem
Some things to try:
Turn off ALL QoS or Disable Traffic Shaping (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options. Advanced/QoS or Gamefuel.
Qos and Traffic shaping are on. Have been turned off
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
On, have been turned off
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
On
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router.

Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.

Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall.

What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto.

Hp pavilion g7 (windows 7), PS3, LG Optimus 3D phone.

Any other WiFi routers in the area? Use InSSIDer to find out.

Turn off Short GI and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Uninstalled AVG, Windows firewall on, was disabled
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.
Even when the only devices were the wired PC and PS3 they could not see each other. Internet connectivity remained OK
Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Cat6 is recommended.
No issues
On a related note the dlna website does not list the DIR 651 as a certified product.
I even tried to do port forwarding when using TVersity, but to no avail, I have run thru most windows 7, PS3 and Tversity trouble shooting problems, but as this computer shared media in the past to my PS3 with my old linksys I'm thinking is the router. I'm hoping this turns out to be a situation where I end up feeling stupid because its something very simple that I have overlooked.
