Dir825 which antenna is 20 or 5 or can they both be either
« on: March 30, 2012, 07:59:01 PM »

Howdy all,

Hope all is ok, we're still setting up our network and have the directional antennas
ready to be aligned is there a difference between which antenna (Right or left) is aligned
with the other ? We chg the AP router(DIR615) settings to 20/40 & security settings to
wpa2/AES as suggested to achievement as high a rate as possible, but I would think that
which antenna is aligned with which antenna would make a difference ?

Thanks very Much

Antennas are omni directional so I presume alignment isn't a factor for this router.

Your pic you posted is very small, can't see any on it.  ::)

No Fuzzynutz,

I replaced both antennas with dish directional antennas on both 825's, when i use a laser pin
to align them i wanted to know if pointing the right one to the right one or left one to left one
would make any difference, i understand about omnidirectional , but just wondered if since i have
seperated them if either antenna used a different transmission rate  or do they both simel cast the
same data stream, if so just wanted to align them right to right or left to left, there is a distance
between them now, the antennas are mounted away fron the router by several feet on either side.

Thanks,
try these links, perhaps one of them is larger tried to resize them.

only way to find out is to align and test.
