Hi,
Can anyone tell me if A/V software on my Vista computers is interfering with retaining the persistent mapping of the DNS-323 Volume_1? Also, is there a solution/owrkaround to the Vista A/V issue? A/V software on a WinXP machine does not affect this mapping.
Thanks.
Ameet.
In my opinion - it's unlikely.
Your A/V software could conceivably prevent mapping, but if it does so, it should do so consistently.
Having said that I'd like to point out that some A/V packages can be configured to deny access to network shares under specific conditions, so if those conditions change over time, access can be denied - McAfee Enterprise, for example, can block access to network shares if a virus is detected on that share, so that it is possible that you have access now and ten minutes later, after a virus has been detected on the share, you don't.
